Known variously as Mike, Mr. Bedford, Citizen of the Year, School Committee member,  Selectman, or as a prior editor of the Bedford Minuteman newspaper during its heyday,  Mike Rosenberg has served the Town of Bedford in multiple capacities for more than 40 years.

During the December 3, 2019, Selectmen’s meeting, Rosenberg announced that he will not seek reelection when his term expires at the Town Election on March 14, 2020.

With thanks to Town Clerk Doreen Tremblay, The Citizen learned today that Rosenberg has served as a member of — or as a liaison to — the following boards and committees since 1976. (Due to time constraints and differing computer systems, some of the appointed board and committee dates were not verified.)

Nonetheless, it’s a hefty list. In case you’re counting, there are more than 25:

Publication Committee, 1976; Public Ceremonies Committee, 1977-1982; Constable , 1977-1983; Ad Hoc Committee on Recycling, 1978-1980; Personnel Board , 1985; Ad Hoc Teen Center Committee, 1990-1991; Recreation Commission, 1991, 2009-2014; Citizen of the Year, 1994; Bicycle Advisory Committee, 2003-2016; Fiscal Planning & Coordinating Committee, 2003, 6/2010-6/2011, 2015-2017; Bedford YMCA Planning Committee, 2004-2007; School Committee, 2005-2007; Selectmen, 2008 to present; Affordable Housing/Bedford Housing Partnership, 2008-to present; Arbor Resource , 2008-present ; Hanscom Field Advisory Committee, 2008-present; HATS II , 2008-present; Wilson Mill Park Planning Committee, 2008-2013; Metropolitan Area Planning Council, 2008-2011; Youth & Family Services, 2008-2009; Zoning Board of Appeals , 2008; Patriotic Holiday Committee , 2010-present; Municipal Affordable Housing Trust, 2011-to present; Charter Review Committee , 2014; Ad Hoc Historical Museum Study Committee, 2015-2016; Historic Preservation Commission, 2016-present; Ad Hoc Community Gardens Task Force, 2018-present; Ad Hoc Bedford at 300 Exploratory Task Force, 2019.
