A Leap Year Change? How About June 31st

Every four years we get an extra day in February – yea!!   For all those people who were born on February 29, I apologize.

But really, who wants an extra day in February? Of all the months to extend!

I think it’s time that we move our extra day to June, everybody loves June.  Nice weather, warm temperatures, long days, that’s an extra day you could get excited about.

The reason the extra day ended up in February was a mathematical error by some ancient Roman.  Apparently they just couldn’t  get the math to work with their new calendar and said, “meh, close enough, we will add an extra day every so often.”

Living in southern Italy, February seemed fine.  And there you have it.  Some mathematically challenged Roman is the reason we get to endure February a little longer.  I think it’s time we do something about it.

Join us in our futile but noble goal called the June 31st Movement.

Stay tuned for more information.
