Coming Soon to a Mailbox Near You: The 2020 Bedford Voters Guide and Annual Town Meeting Preview

February 29, 2020

An important town election is coming up on Saturday, March 14 and then the Annual Town Meeting begins on Monday, March 23.

At The Bedford Citizen, we’re taking Franklin D. Roosevelt’s words to heart. As soon as the lawn signs started to appear, The Bedford Citizen began working with the Bedford League of Women Voters to create our first Bedford Voters Guide.

Exciting news! The Voters Guide is at the printer and will be in your mailbox the first week of March. It should give you plenty of time to become an informed voter. It’s 13 pages of asking the candidates why they are running and asking them to discuss some of the important issues facing the town.

The second part of the Voters Guide consists of the upcoming Town Meeting on March 23. It quickly gives you a summary of what is on the agenda and some of the hot topics, include the moving of the Fire Station and a revised amendment to allow Accessory Dwelling Units in town.

Look for the Voters Guide in your mailbox and then come out to vote on March 14 and plan on attending the Town Meeting on March 23.

A special thanks to the Bedford League of Women Voters, The Friends of the Council on Aging, and the Bedford Cultural Council, a local affiliate of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, that helped fund this Voters Guide.

And finally a big thank you to the readers and contributors to The Bedford Citizen who made all this possible.
