Alan Pearlmutter, Music Director of the Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet has announced the program for the ensemble’s upcoming concert, Favorites Old and New — Winter, to be performed at 7:30 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in the sanctuary of the historic meeting house on Bedford Common, First Parish in Bedford Unitarian Universalist, 75 The Great Road.
Tickets are available at the door: Adults $20; Students $10; 13 and under free
The concert will include works by Johannes Brahms ~ Hungarian Dance No. 17 and Serenade No. 2 in A representing Germany, and Sergei Taneyev’s Andante and A Suite from Moscow Cheryomushki, Op. 105 by Dmitri Shostakovich, representing the Russian portion of the program.
Musicians include Carol Epple, principal flute; Wendy Vignaux, flute, piccolo; Michael Ochoa, principal oboe; Nancy Shapiro, oboe; Linda Poland, principal clarinet; Jenny Connors, clarinet; Lauren Landry, principal bassoon; Leonard Martin, bassoon; Emily Wiebe, principal horn; and Ran Lu, horn.
Kammerwerke is a 501(c)(3) organization supported in part by donations and grants from the Bedford, Billerica, Chelmsford, Concord, and Lincoln. Several local Cultural Councils, agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. and the Lexington Center for the Arts, have supported this concert.
