The Performing Arts Department of the Bedford Public Schools will hold its annual Vocal Vertical Concert on Wednesday, February 12, at 7 pm in the BHS auditorium.

Eight ensembles from Lane School, John Glenn Middle School, and Bedford High School will perform. The concert will feature songs from a variety of choral styles and genres, including “Hands Are Knockin’” by Penderson, “When I Grow Up” from MATILDA (arr. Emerson), “Kusimama” by Jim Papoulis, and “Alterations” by Andrea Ramsey.

The vertical concerts provide a great opportunity to enjoy the breadth of the music program in Bedford’s public schools, and to hear how students’ musical skills grow over time. The concert will culminate in a final number featuring all of the students, from grades 5 through 12.

The music students and faculty, as well as the volunteers and supporters of POMS, Bedford’s music booster organization, welcome all interested community members, family, and friends to attend the upcoming concerts. Like all performers, these students would love to have a full and attentive audience. Make sure to check out the POMS concert etiquette video at https://youtu.be/MjzVkGiXcgU for some lighthearted tips on how to make sure all concertgoers get the most out of upcoming performances!
