As it prepares for the retirement of Superintendent Jon Sills in June, the Bedford School Committee has shared the names of the four candidates for superintendent of Schools.
Representing a 17-member committee who interviewed 12 candidates, Special Ed Director Marianne Vines made the announcement during Tuesday’s School Committee meeting. The candidates are
- Phillip Conrad, Principal of Andover High School
- Frank Hackett, Superintendent of the Braintree School Department
- Nan Skiff Murphy, Statewide System of Support Assistance Lead for the Mass Department of Education
- Anthony Parker, Principal of Weston High School
Community Interviews
Because of the COVID-19 ban on large gatherings, the community interviews will be conducted with the help of Bedford TV. The conversations will be available on YouTube for the community as well as faculty, staff, and school families to view at their convenience.
“In lieu of face to face meetings, we are going to bring our candidates over to the Bedford TV studio, collect questions from faculty, staff and parents/community members, ” said Superintendent Sills. “Each interview will last approximately 90 minutes, using our collected questions.”

The first interview is scheduled for 2:20 pm, the second for 4:20 on Thursday, April 12.
