Moving Forward in the Search for a New Superintendent of the Bedford Schools

March 6, 2020

The search for a new superintendent of Bedford Public Schools is moving to its next phase.

The Search, Screening and Interview Committee is wrapping up its work.  The Committee has reviewed applications, interviewed more than a dozen well-qualified candidates, and will recommend finalists to the School Committee at its meeting on Tuesday, March 10.

The identities of the finalists will remain confidential until that time.  Community members are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held at 7:30 pm in the Bedford High School Large Group Instruction Room.

Over the next several weeks, each finalist will be invited to Bedford to meet with faculty, staff, students, families and community members.  Plans for these visits are still in development, but the first visit is expected to occur on Thursday, March 12, with the community meeting taking place in the early evening.

A notice about the finalists with the dates and times of site visits will be shared next Wednesday morning via e-mail to student families, faculty and staff, and in The Bedford Citizen.

Many thanks to the members of the Search, Screening and Interview Committee for their intensive effort to screen and interview candidates.  Members include Lori Alper, Beth Benoit, Jill Butler, Anne Caron, Jessica Colby, Ryan Doucette, Allison John, Alicia Linsey, Vince McGrath, Akil Mondesir, Helen Pulizzi, Erin Quinlan, Jim Sunderland, Gloria Tsai, Marianne Vines, and Dan Brosgol.
