The Bedford Water Division initiated its annual water main flushing program on March 24. This initiative ensures clean water throughout the town’s distribution system. Residents along the Great Road near the Lexington border were the first to experience this process, which will individually address areas moving westerly, with the final phase beginning near North, Dudley, and Carlisle Road.
The current phase will be in the neighborhoods off Old Billerica Road and Springs Road. Residents may experience rusty water as a temporary side effect of this process. If you experience rusty water please let your cold water tap run for several minutes. If the water does not clear, or if you have any questions, please contact the Bedford Department of Public Works at (781) 275-7605, ext. 4255.
