Bedford Embraces Diversity ~ Meeting to Solicit Community Comments & Ideas ~ Tuesday, June 30 via Zoom

The Board of Bedford Embraces Diversity met this week to discuss the next steps in its efforts to enlighten and inspire the community about anti-racism and race relations.

One important decision was to solicit ideas and comments from the community.

Bedford Embraces Diversity has scheduled a general meeting on the Zoom platform for Tuesday, June 30, beginning at 7:30 p.m. to present its agenda and hear from residents and friends. To register for the discussion, write to [email protected].

Among the proposals the organization will describe at the meeting are:

  • A follow-up to the June 10 Zoom forum that featured voices from seven persons of color who reside in or attended school in Bedford. This sequel would feature a speaker followed by small discussion in breakout groups of three of four.
  • An extended program of continuing conversations.
  • Another forum featuring the voices of young people instrumental in the grass-roots protests.
  • Live events, as soon as coronavirus limits are sufficiently relaxed.

The group, which is now in its seventh year, is also looking for more volunteers to serve on the Board or help organize projects and programs.

CORRECTION: Bedford Embraces Diversity’s program will take place on TUESDAY, June 30, 2020
