Phase 2: Reopening Guidance for Businesses

As we continue to move forward with the Governor’s plan to phase in the reopening of different establishments and businesses, the Bedford Board of Health wants to direct you to the required documentation to help your business reopen or continue operating in a manner that will protect the health and safety of both staff and customers, and keep you in full compliance with the requirements set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

For information on the Reopening Phases for business categories, please visit https://www.mass.gov/info-details/reopening-when-can-my-business-reopen . This link is updated frequently by the State of Massachusetts and notes different business categories, reopening dates or phases, and other information.

All necessary General Business requirements from the state can be found here but we have also broken it down for you below

Reopening: General Mandatory Safety Standards for Workplaces These new standards will apply universally to all workplaces that reopen during each Phase, and are designed to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission to employees and customers. Further details of these requirements are listed below in the section titled General Mandatory Safety Standards and Required Documentation. An overview of these standards can be found at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/reopening-mandatory-safety-standards-for-workplaces

Sector-Specific Protocols and Best Practices
These documents detail the mandatory safety standards and recommended best practices for specific sectors that are eligible to open in Phase 2, as well as updated standards for those businesses previously eligible to open in Phase 1. It is very important businesses continue to check these requirements at the beginning of each Phase, as each sector may be provided with updated guidance that directly affects their operations. Additional sector guidance for future phases will be issued at a later date. All businesses permitted to reopen must be in compliance with these standards before reopening their business. The sector-specific requirements can be found at https://www.mass.gov/resource/reopening-sector-specific-protocols-and-best-practices
