With the end of the school year in sight, families seeking seasonal fun or childcare may wish to investigate the Bedford Recreation Department.
Summer Adventures and Kids Club Summer Fun child care both have opportunities. Once registered for Kids Club, children are eligible for before and after school programs that will begin when school resumes.
Online registration begins at 9 pm on Thursday, June 11.
Summer Adventures
Under recently released guidelines, Bedford’s Summer Adventures program is planning to open on June 29, with three two-week sessions, ending on August 7.
Registration opened on March 8 and closed a short time later when Massachusetts’ stay-at-home orders went into effect. Registrations will re-open online at 9 pm on Thursday, June 11
Summer Adventures celebrates summer as a wonderful time in children’s lives. Bedford Recreation and the Summer Adventures staff strive to provide each child with memories of new experiences, new friendships, and new adventures.
Programs will include a wide range of active, creative, and enriching opportunities for children to enjoy. The staff is mindful that, most importantly, summer is a time for kids to be kids and play!
There are three programs, each designed to meet the specific needs of children from age 4 (pre-K) through 6th grade.
There is availability in most groups, as well as in newly-created groups for children entering grades 5 and 6.
The Recreation Department is making modifications to the Summer Adventures program in light of guidance from the State of Massachusetts and the Bedford Board of Health to assure appropriate safety.

Kids Club Summer Fun
Kids’ Club Summer Fun registration will open Monday, June 16 at 7 am for children who are members of Kids’ Club. The program is open between from 7 am until 6 pm, Monday through Friday, from June 29 through September 1, 2020
Bedford Recreation Kids’ Club is a school-age care program located at Town Center (in the same complex as the Police Station and Town Hall). Kids Club Summer Fun welcomes children entering grades K-6 in September. Kindergarteners may attend Summer Fun after their 5th birthday.
Apply online for 2020-2021 membership for your child. Your Kids Club membership starts on the first day of 2020 Summer Fun and expires on the last day of school in June 2021.
Your child must be a 2020-2021 member of Kids’ Club before registering for Summer Fun or school year programs.
