Remembering Hiroshima on August 6 ~ Bell Ringing and Vigil at First Parish

The bells will toll at the First Parish UU Church in Bedford (75 Great Road) at  8:15 am on Thursday, August 6th, 2020 in solemn observance of the moment the world’s first atomic bomb was detonated on Hiroshima, Japan 75 years ago.  There will be a silent vigil that day from 8:00 am – 8:30 am on the Green in front of First Parish.  All are invited to join in commemorating this historic and tragic event.  Attendees are requested to wear facemasks and observe social distancing at the vigil.

The church service on Sunday, August 9th is titled “Never Again” 75 Years after the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  The puplic is invited to attend by Zoom (the church building is not open).  Please check the church website for information and a Zoom link https://www.uubedford.org
