DPW Plans New Recycling Collection for October 17

October 8, 2020

The Department of Public Works is planning a second recycling collection on Saturday, October 17 from 8 am to 1 pm at the DPW Facility, 108 Carlisle Road, for residents who were turned away during the October 3 collection.

The event is open to Bedford residents only; proof of residency is required.

Bedford residents will have the opportunity to get rid of electronic waste, homeowner project debris, scrap metal, rigid plastics, tires, propane tanks, and expired fire extinguishers.

The DPW facility will be closed for yard waste and brush drop-off on October 17.

“In an effort to accommodate all Bedford residents, we are working with vendors to offer collection of the same materials that were collected on October 3,” said David Manugian.

“The DPW has made some adjustments to this Saturday’s paper shredding event based on what happened on October 3,” Manugian continued. “Once we see how the paper shredding event goes, we’ll finalize the plan for October 17.”

The DPW plans to announce details of the October 17 event next Tuesday.
