You’re Invited to Walk, Bike, & Roll! Join Us in Celebrating Safe Routes to School’s Walk 2020: International Walk, Bike, & Roll to School 2020!

Let’s celebrate students’ active commutes of walking, biking, and rolling to school and other destinations here in the Commonwealth and all across the globe.

Bedford has been celebrating Walk, Bike, and Roll to School days since 2008!  Like most events this year, we will not be gathering as we have traditionally, but still want to highlight the many benefits of using active transportation modes for students and families.

Need ideas on how to Walk and Bike to School?  Visit:  www.bedfordma.gov/about-healthy-bedford/pages/safe-routes-to-school

If you need to borrow a bicycle or bike related gear to get started, Bedford has a Bicycle Lending program.  Email:  [email protected] for more information.

Residents wanting to explore how they might start a bike train in their neighborhood, or to consider adding active transit to their routine is encouraged to contact Bicycle Advisory Chair Mark Bailey at [email protected].

Mark can also advise residents who commute to Cambridge or Boston and who want to avoid or minimize car or public transportation travel, and can suggest routes or lead rides on Saturdays or other off-peak times to help get you started.
