The grant cycle for the Bedford Cultural Council ends on Monday, Dec. 14. All applications must be received by that date.

“Bedford Cultural Council grants can support a variety of cultural projects and activities in and around Bedford,” Purchia said. These include festivals and performances; lectures and workshops; arts education and enrichment programs; nature, science, and environmental education projects; and projects celebrating local history and cultural diversity.
A summary of all previous grants from fiscal years 1998 through 2020 is posted on the town’s website under Cultural Council (https://www.bedfordma.gov/cultural-council/files/bedford-cultural-council-grant-history). It lists all approved grant applicants, the project title, discipline, amount awarded by fiscal year, and totals the number of grant applicants and the annual amount awarded.
Purchia shared an excerpt from a message she received from one of last year’s grant recipients, Bethany Klem of Tanglewood Marionettes. “I think that the Cultural Council program has been one of the brightest spots in this upended year,” she wrote. “The program was so quick to allow changes to the projects so they could be presented virtually, the deadline extensions have been helpful.”
