The Bedford High School ski teams lost their opening contests of the 2021 season Thursday against combined teams from the high schools in Leominster and Lunenberg. The giant slaloms took place at Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford.
Jay Schwartz won the boys’ race with a time of 22.9 seconds, but cumulatively Leominster and Lunenberg came out on top by five, 41-36. Other finishers for Bedford were Kristian Ivanov, fifth place; Aiden McEachern, seventh; and Connor Lewis, eighth.
On the girls’ side, Bedford fell 56-30. Top finishers were Kate Marino, Ella Mullins, Nicole Karev, Kitty Warhover, and Madison Watts.
