Bedford TV will record and live stream all Bedford High School boys’ and girls’ varsity home basketball games this winter, beginning today (Jan. 5) at 5:30 p.m. with the Bedford  boys hosting Waltham.

Home games are held primarily on Tuesday and Friday evenings; check the Dual County League website for the schedule: https://www.dualcountyleague.org/public/genie/241/school/2/.

All games will stream right to Bedford TV’s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/bedfordtvma.

“To catch the live action or a replay of the game, navigate to the YouTube page and click the thumbnail of the game you want to watch,” explained Katie Duval, Bedford TV director. “During game time, the video will be first on the page and there will be a red “LIVE” icon in the bottom corner.”

She added that Bedford TV, always on the lookout for new volunteers, can accept only student volunteers to assist with the games. Anyone interested in getting involved may email staff@bedford.tv.

Duval thanked BHS Athletic Director, Keith Mangan for his help in organizing this coverage, Graeme Godzyk and the BHS information technology department for the use of its hot spot, and the Bedford Cultural Council “for providing a generous grant to help Bedford TV purchase additional livestreaming equipment in order to make this coverage possible.”

She added that Bedford TV, a nonprofit organization, “is providing access to these games as part of their mission to make media available, reflective and responsive to the needs of our community.” Donations in support of the programming may be made through www.bedford.tv/donate, she said.
