The Bedford High School Buccaneers easily defeated Boston Latin, 44-24, in girls’ basketball Tuesday evening at BHS.
The Buccaneers’ starting lineup greatly outhustled the Wolfpack starters, especially on defense, giving them a huge lead and allowing them to cruise to victory.
Bedford actually started slowly but soon rallied to take a 16-7 lead over Latin at the end of the first quarter. It was smooth sailing from there, as the Bucs outscored the Wolfpack 16-5 in the second quarter, for a 32-12 lead at halftime. Bedford maintained that 20-point margin to the end.
Katherine Vaughn had a dominant game, finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots. Julia Dearing, a junior, added six points.
