Letter to the Editor: Volunteer Coordinating Committee Seeks Appointees for Open Board and Committee Positions

Print More

The Town of Bedford has many volunteers on Town Committees who donate their time and knowledge.  A number of those committees are looking for new volunteers to lend their enthusiasm and interest to the town to ensure that Bedford remains the special place that it is.  While we have excellent town employees, we cannot express how important it is for town residents to contribute their voices to the functioning of the Town of Bedford.

We presently have a number of openings which are listed below.  Openings change over time, so if there is a committee in which you have an interest, we encourage you (currently via Zoom) to attend a meeting (or view a recording) to see and hear how it functions. You are also encouraged to contact a member of the Volunteer Coordinating committee to learn more about becoming a committee member and submitting your application.  You must be a Town of Bedford resident and registered voter in order to serve.

For more information on these committees and openings, as well as a link to the volunteer questionnaire including VCC contact information, please visit https://www.bedfordma.gov/volunteer-coordinating-committee

Editor’s Note: To facilitate readers’ interest in the committees, each is linked to its page on the Town of Bedford website.

We hope to have multiple applicants for committee openings to help find volunteers with a variety of skill sets needed on each committee.

You are also welcome to apply even if there is not a current opening on your committee of interest.  We hold on to the applications, and when openings arise, we’ll let you know and set up your appointment for an interview with the appointing authority. All Bedford residents who are registered voters are encouraged and welcome.

Thank you in advance for your interest.  We hope to hear from you soon.

The current members of Bedford’s Volunteer Coordinating Committee: Chair Joe Piantedosi; Members Jennifer Kelley, Patty Carluccio, Angelo Colao, and Kelly Korenak.

Correction 01312021: Volunteer Coordinating Committee and Community Preservation Committee appointments were filled.
