We are writing to express our support of Margot Fleischman for re-election to a fourth term as a Bedford Select Board member, and we encourage you to join us.
Margot began her volunteerism on town boards 16 years ago, while having two young children in the Bedford school district. Her commitment to Bedford is evident through her tenure on the Sidewalks Committee, Planning Board, Transportation Committee, Energy & Sustainability Committee, Community Preservation Committee, and the past nine years as a Select Board member.
Undoubtedly you’ve seen or even enjoyed the projects Margot has influenced around town. The Davis Rd. boardwalk, affordable housing at Bedford Villages & former Coast Guard complex, restoration of Fawn Lake, and countless sidewalks & trails are just a few of her impacts. You likely have seen Margot herself riding her bike, holding a candle or poster for peace & equity on the Common, or beautifying the community!
Margot was a key advocate for the economic development director role, which brought growth of industry and technology to Bedford and reduction of residential tax rates. She has also been an influential and outspoken advocate for Bedford’s impact on climate change, helping the town think creatively about Net Zero energy consumption, reducing our carbon footprint, and resiliency.
You would be hard-pressed to find someone more knowledgeable about Bedford’s government and inner workings than Margot. Well known and respected, Margot leads with a wonderful blend of kindness, knowledge, energy, and passion. Bedford has been incredibly fortunate to have such a committed and experienced public servant and would be remiss to not re-elect her as a Select Board member.
