After several years with the Citizen and two years as the operations manager, it’s time for me to shift my focus to new things. As they say, when one door closes, another door opens. Perhaps this door is opening for you.

If you have been a fan of The Bedford Citizen, chances are there has been a time you’ve asked, “Has the Citizen covered this?” Hopefully, the answer was “Yes!”. Behind the identity of The Bedford Citizen, there is a small and loyal cohort of staff and volunteers that make the work of the Citizen possible, and this is your opportunity to be one of them.

The Bedford Citizen is a great organization. For everything you see from the outside, there are a host of operational activities that help keep it all running. Would you like to be a part of informing our town and community? Would you like to work with dedicated and thoughtful board members and other staff to bring the news to Bedford? Would you like an opportunity for a part-time job with a real impact on informing people throughout the town? If so, maybe this is the job for you.

As operations manager, you would be working closely with the president of The Bedford Citizen and the chair of the fundraising committee on sustaining donor, sponsor, and reader relationships. You would also work with the Treasurer to produce monthly reports and packets for our dedicated Board of Directors. While moving on from this role, I will be available to train my replacement and be a resource for them as they begin in this new role.

Well into our 9th year, The Bedford Citizen is growing and expanding all the time and you can be at the heart of it all!  If you think you have the right skills and interests for this job, I encourage you to learn more—click this link to learn more about The Citizen’s Operations Manager position.
