An Obituary: Wallace S. Oshiro

April 26, 2021

Wallace S. Oshiro passed away at age 90 on April 3, 2021.  Mr. Oshiro served in the Korean War, then earned his degree at Loyola University in Chicago before becoming a federal agent for the US Treasury Department; after a long career in Chicago, Mr. Oshiro and his wife moved to Bedford to be near family. They lovingly babysat their two grandsons, bringing them to construction sites, train stations, playgrounds, beaches and fun restaurants, as well as chauffeuring them to their various activities. Mr. Oshiro was a vital and quiet force, his favorite hobbies including fishing, swimming at the Bedford VA pool and talking with his VA buddies, tai chi, road trips, reading the New York Times cover to cover, and dabbling in stocks. He will be greatly missed, especially for his steadfastness, dependability, political analyses, and great sense of humor!
