Registration for Rec Department Summer Programs Begins Monday, April 5

The summer edition of the Bedford Recreation Department brochure offers something for everyone, although no indoor classes will be offered due to the ongoing pandemic.

Summer programming highlights include:

Springs Brook Park will be open to Bedford residents and guests from June 22 to August 14 with both season memberships and daily admission. The park will be open Tuesday through Saturday each week, weather permitting.

Summer Adventures will operate three sessions between June 28 and August 6. Activities for grades 1 to 6 will include swim lessons, and Junior Adventures is ready to welcome pre-schoolers, with a weekly visit to the Springs Brook Spray Park. A Counselor in Training program is available for students entering grades 8 and 9.

Kids Club offers summer sessions (that registration opens on April 12 with registration for the 2021-2022 school year on May 4)

Other activities for youth include science and math experiments, chess lessons, engineering and programming,  Minecraft, stop-motion film making, along with the F.A.S.T. multi-sports program, flag football, and soccer clinics. There is also a travel soccer team for grades 3 to 8

Adult activities range from crafts and TV options in the digital age to exercise and fitness programs (including goat yoga again!) Golf and archery lessons are available along with pick-up softball games and a possible men’s summer basketball league.

Registration begins online at 8 pm tomorrow, Monday, April 5.
