Lightning was reported as the cause of a power outage on and around Concord Road late Thursday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson for the electric utility Eversource, the lighting displaced some wires around 4:35 p.m., resulting in a loss of electricity at some addresses for longer than three hours. On Thursday evening Eversource said the official number of residences affected was 144, but initially, more than 1,458 customers were without power.
Police closed the roadway between McMahon and Hartwell Roads to facilitate repair. The street was reopened before 7:30.
Eversource had no information on a smaller outage reported in the Davis Road area near Revolutionary Ridge Road.
