Short Stop Cafe, Closed for More than a Year due to the Pandemic, Reopened on May 4

May 19, 2021

The Short Stop Cafe on Loomis Street is back to serving their famous Belgian Waffles,  sandwiches, and scones along with coffee and cold drinks.

After over a year of being closed because of the pandemic, the Cafe reopened on May 4.

The interior of Short Stop Cafe

Sandy Duan, the owner, said in February of 2020 she had just finished redecorating her shop when she was called back to Shanghai, China to take care of her ailing father.   When she returned home to Bedford in late March of 2020 everything was shut down.   With her kids home from school she decided she wouldn’t bother to reopen with all the restrictions.    Luckily,  her husband was able to work from home and she decided to stay home to take care of her kids and her dog.

On May 4 when Sandy reopened, she was greeted with smiles and hugs from her faithful customers.  So stop in and say hi.
