BHS Boys Tennis Team Heads to the MIAA Division 2 North Semifinals

The Bedford High School boys’ tennis team marched into the MIAA Division 2 North semifinals Tuesday, traveling all the way to Bass River Tennis Club in Beverly and departing with a shutout, 5-0 over second-seeded Marblehead High.

As of 7:45 Tuesday evening the BHS road warriors were waiting to learn their destination for Thursday’s semifinals –either at Beverly or at Concord-Carlisle.

The 10th-seeded Bucs qualified for the quarterfinals with a 4-1 win at Arlington Catholic last week. Marblehead didn’t win a single match.

Singles winners were Malcolm Mayanja. 6-2, 6-1;Owen Goss, 6-0, 6-0; and Adam Capobianco, 6-3, 6-3.Both BHS doubles teams were also successful: Ittai Weisman and Rohan Manne, 6-2, 6-4; and Jake Klingenburg and Leo Chen, 6-0, 6-4.
