Derek Chauvin Sentence- What’s Bedford Thinking?

June 26, 2021

A Minnesota judge sentenced Derek Chauvin to 22.5 years in prison Friday for the murder of George Floyd — a punishment that exceeds the state’s minimum guidelines but falls short of prosecutors’ request for a 30-year sentence.

In April after the verdict was reached, 70% of the people surveyed agreed with the verdict, while 30% thought Chauvin should face the maximum sentence of 40 years.

So what’s Bedford Thinking about the sentence?
