Friends of the Library Popup Book Sale ~ In Person Event on June 26

After well over a year during which there were NO traditional book sales, the Friends of the Library are holding a popup sale on June 26 from 11 to 3 p.m. outside the Library. Tables and cashiers will be set up outside the building where the curbside pickup happens.

Friends’ spokesperson Beverley Matthews reports there is a large inventory of books, mostly fiction and children’s books, but a variety of items.

The Friends are hoping to trim their inventory so they can start taking book donations again in July, which is good news for Bedford readers who have been saving up their books to contribute. Watch for the announcement when you may begin bringing donated books to the Library.

Online Bookstore

Immediately before the sale, the Friends online bookstore will be going offline. The bookstore proved to be a successful venture during a time when no one could visit the Library in person.

Margaret Jackson, co-Vice chair,  reported that proceeds from the bookbag sales were approximately $5,000. Until June 26, you can still visit the bookstore and request a bag of books in several genres:  https://friendsofthebedfordlibrary.wildapricot.org/sys/website/?pageId=1075189

Volunteers selected books on request, bagged, and delivered them to patrons, a greatly appreciated service during the throes of the pandemic.
