Yesterday as I was cutting the lawn I was wondering how many people cut their own lawn. You have a lot of time to think of these idle thoughts when you’re going back and forth cutting your grass. I see landscapers all over my neighborhood cutting people’s lawns and I was just curious as to how many people do it themselves. In a 2017 poll it was estimated that 40% of the country uses some kind of lawn service. Service is broader than just cutting, but still 40% seems high to me.
So what about Bedford? Do you cut your own grass or do you hire a service?
Ready to be counted? Vote in the poll until noon next Saturday. You’ll find the poll in the right-hand column on The Citizen’s main page, or by scrolling to the bottom of your phone or tablet
I have my grass (and dandelions and Jill and plantain and….) mowed but I do some trimming with a small, battery-operated mower – push, not self-propelled.
Been mowing and blowing on my own for over 32 years now! Pride of ownership.. did my folks’ when l was a kid.
We cut our own. Aldorisios
I cut my lawn as well. It takes me an hour. It puts me in a zen state. I love it. I love the exercise (cheeper than a gym) and love the result!
I have my back yard cut by landscaper front by me. No poll option for partial?
No sorry, didn’t think of that one.
I cut my own lawn, but in my neighborhood of 25 homes (Sweeney Ridge) I only see one other household do so. The others, also, have lawn services blow the leaves and trim the bushes.
I cut our lawn . It gives me great satisfaction, is good exercise, gets me outdoors and the price is right. I grew up learning to “do it yourself “ when possible.
I think those are good values. And I love cutting the lawn at an angle. Those lines make me happy!
