A message from Sean Hagan, K-12 Director of Visual Art for the Bedford Public Schools:

Welcome to the 27th annual (and 2nd and hopefully final virtual!) Bedford Public Schools K-12 Art exhibit.

This was a year of resourcefulness and adaptability. Our curriculum was turned on its head and much had to be reinvented. Remote and hybrid learning added layers of complexity, especially when trying to build classroom community.

In this year of uncertainty the one constant, however, was our students. When faced with adversity and challenge, our students consistently impressed us with their creativity and ingenuity. They surprised us with their growth mindset and willingness to try new things. And while we would never want to repeat this year, the challenges forced us to adapt and find new ways to engage, analyze and interpret our content which we will carry with us as teachers and learners.

I’d like to personally thank the Bedford Art teachers for their adaptability and sustained efforts this year; you are greatly appreciated. Thank you Mr. Preusch, Mrs. Ferrari, Mrs. Grant, Mrs. Yerova, Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Sussman, Ms. Wagner, and Mr. Sheinfeld.

This exhibit is the result of hard work and determination by our students and also serves as a reminder of what can still be accomplished in what has been arguably the most arduous and challenging year of our lives. We hope you enjoy this gallery.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and relaxing summer!
