The Formidable Bedford Girls Youth Lacrosse Teams

June 14, 2021

Once again, the Bedford Girls Youth Lacrosse program has shown surrounding towns that it is formidable. Both the U15 and U13 girls teams continued a remarkable streak of nearly 4 years of undefeated play in the Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League.

Although the word was out and opponents came gunning for the team, the U15 group went an impressive 8 wins without a loss. The team was led by a strong core of 8th graders: Izzy King, Sam Kinch, Caroline Luongo, Scarlett Evans, Emma Dubrovskiy, Kyra Doherty, Finley Halloran, Sarah Nelson, Katie Schmidt,  Liila Hartman, Ryan Maddox, Tori Machado, Christine Hovnanian, and Shreya Ramanathan.

Many of these players even stepped up to the high school level to play on the junior varsity squad, too! Equal to the task were the talented 7th graders: Tova Yerardi, Katherine Kohler, Julia Mullins, Julie Curtis, and Tatum Gayron.

The U13 group also played 8 games without a loss. The team consisted of Jocelyn Bullard, Abigail Cargiuolo, Ashley Cohen, Erin Cullis, Sophia Demeo, Zoey Kauffman, Sadie King, Violet Lorusso, Mary Macdonald, Kayah Maloney, Willow McGinness, Olivia O’Brien, Sofie Pattaropong, Giliana Pereira, Caitlin Plurad, Jadyn Robinson, Lucy Scoville,  Jane Whiteside, Mia Zevallos, and Sophia Zevallos.

With the Bedford Girls High School Varsity making the state tournament again this year by finishing the season with an impressive 7 wins 3 losses, the future of girls lacrosse in town continues to shine brightly.
