Babe Ruth Baseball ~ Recapping Summer Games at Lexington and Watertown

July 29, 2021

A recap of recent results among Bedford Babe Ruth baseball summer teams winning games in Lexington and Watertown:

Wednesday night, Bedford’s under-12 Middlesex White team rallied for three runs in the top of the last inning to stun host Lexington, 9-8. Griffin Baron scored what proved to be the winning run, scampering from third base during a rundown play between first and second.

Still, it wasn’t easy. In the bottom of the sixth Lexington loaded the bases with two out, and tried to score the tying run on a wild pitch. Catcher Paul Stewart quickly retrieved the ball and made a diving tag, ending the game.

Nolan Borella powered the offense for the victors with a single, a double, and a triple, as well as a couple of stolen bases. Henrik Muelhoefer and Ryan Nelson added two hits apiece. The team totaled 11 hits.

Borella and Brennan Comeau blanked Lexington over the last two innings from the mound, sealing the comeback victory.
