September 19, 2021

Leslie George “Bud” Hollenbeck passed away on September 16, 2021, at age 99.    A Pearl Harbor survivor, Mr. Hollenbeck was a longtime Bedford resident. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 and served in World War II as a Signalman aboard the Battleship USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) in the Pacific from 1940-46 (8 Battle Stars). Mr. Hollenbeck was active in Bedford during the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s: he served as Deacon at the First Church of Christ, Congregational; as Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 116; and managed the purchase and distribution of all Little League Baseball Equipment. He was an avid tennis player until the age of 92.

A Memorial Service will be held in Shawsheen Funeral Home, 281 Great Road, BEDFORD on Friday, Sept. 24th at 5:00 PM.
