The DPW is hosting two recycling events for Bedford residents at 108 Carlisle Road:

  • Saturday, October 16 ~ 9 am to 1 pm: Electronic waste, scrap metal, and tires. Acceptable e-waste: TVs, computer monitors/laptops/hard drives/keyboards, phones, cameras, gaming systems, stereos/CD players/VCRs, projectors, fax machines, printers/scanners, air conditioners/dehumidifiers, small portable kitchen appliances (blenders, toasters, coffee makers, etc.). No refrigerators, ovens, dryers, washers, or other large appliances will be accepted.
  • October 30 ~ 9 am to 1 pm: Paper shredding (limit 5 boxes per vehicle), propane tanks, expired fire extinguishers, sealed lead-acid and rechargeable batteries, fluorescent lamps, and other items containing mercury.

To avoid traffic backing up, the DPW is alphabetically staggering the hours by last name for both events. We ask for residents to come at the appropriate hour:

  • A-F: 9-10am
  • G-M: 10-11am
  • N-Z: 11-noon
  • All residents: noon-1pm
