Bedford Cultural Council ~ Virtual Showcase Highlights Past Recipients

~ Submitted by the Bedford Cultural Council

The Bedford Cultural Council is now hosting a virtual reception to honor past grant recipients. Due to ongoing restrictions and health department requirements, an in-person reception proved not to be feasible again this fall.

However, the Council found a creative way to showcase past projects on their website and Facebook accounts:

The virtual reception shines a spotlight on some of the popular programs that have received funding from the Council in the past two years, such as the Bedford Public Library StoryWalk, Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet series of concerts at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, the Bedford Historical Society’s lecture series, and Bedford Embraces Diversity’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day community breakfast.

FY22 Grant Applications are Due on October 15

Applications for the FY22 grant cycle are being accepted until October 15, 2021. The Bedford Cultural Council encourages organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community. In these challenging times, artistic and cultural projects and activities are needed more than ever and there are grants available to support them

Eligible projects can be artistic projects and activities in and around Bedford. The grant program supports a wide range of opportunities, including festivals and performances; lectures and workshops; arts education and enrichment programs for children and adults; nature, science, and environmental education projects; and projects celebrating local history and cultural diversity.

The application is completely electronic, straightforward, and relatively easy to complete. Bedford funding priorities, local guidelines, and information are available online at https://www.bedfordma.gov/cultural-council and www.mass-culture.org/Bedford. The online application is available at https://massculturalcouncil.smartsimple.com/s_Login.jsp.
