The 2021 Hanscom Air Force Base Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) Meeting is scheduled to meet virtually from 7 until 9:30 pm on Monday, October 18.

The RAB was established after Hanscom AFB became a Federal Superfund Site in 1994, according to a report by Don Corey in The Bedford Citizen in 2012, and is comprised of Hanscom personnel, their environmental contractors, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) personnel, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) personnel, Town of Bedford representatives, and local citizens.

After welcoming remarks and introductions, the meeting will proceed to its annual Environmental Restoration Program Update covering three topics:

  • Hanscom AFB Sites in Northeast Optimized Remediation Contract (ORC)
  • Remedial Investigation(RI)/ Feasibility Study (FS) for 1,4-Dioxane
  • Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) Update

The final presentation will be an update on the status of the Hanscom AFB Stormwater Management program. Time for questions and discussion will be available before the meeting closes.

To join the virtual meeting by computer or phone, email Katrina Harris at [email protected] or call 610.494.8044.
