Younger Kids and Covid-19 Vaccines – What’s Bedford Thinking

October 30, 2021

The FDA has just approved the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for children age 5 to 11 years old, making it available possibly as early as next week.  A recent survey from Kaiser Family Foundation found that parents are being much more cautious when deciding if they’ll get their younger children vaccinated.   This is true even for people who received their own vaccine as soon as it became available.   The NPR story mentions some of the hesitations.

The survey found that only a third of the parents said they would get the vaccine as soon as available.   Another third said they would wait and see, while 7% said they would only get their younger ones vaccinated if required.  Another 24% said they would definitely not get their kids vaccinated.

So what’s Bedford thinking?  Will you take your 5 to 11-year-old kids to be vaccinated once it becomes available?
