Republic Services will conduct a final curbside collection of yard waste from Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 3.
The Compost Center also will be open from
- 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec 1, and
- 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4.
For a full December schedule, please visit www.bedfordma.gov/dpw.
Residents should place the yard waste out at the curb in tall paper bags or open barrels with no lids by 7 a.m. on Monday.
Acceptable yard waste for curbside collection consists of leaves, pine needles, grass clippings, garden trimmings, weeds, and tree material up to one inch (1”) in diameter.
Any yard waste in plastic bags will be left behind. Republic Services will bring the yard waste to the town’s Compost Center.
A missed collection should be promptly reported to Republic Services at (800)442-9006.
Curbside collection did not occur for our neighborhood or other streets in our area last week, Nov 29-Dec 3. This is the second missed collection this season, so there has been only 1 week of collection this season in our neighborhood. Republic Services was contacted directly the morning of Dec 3 to notify that a collection had not yet occurred this week in our neighborhood. I hope that the town will secure a collection to pick up all the missed yard waste that has been on the streets for over a week.
