Tuesday evening, the juniors were in the spotlight for the undefeated girls’ basketball team at Bedford High School.

Marina Greaney (17 points) and Sydney Poor (16) led the scoring as Coach Ashley Kepaa’s Bucs trounced Weston at home, 57-25.

The girls will try to start the 2021-22 season 4-0 on the Bedford court Wednesday vs. Manchester-Essex. The opening tip is scheduled for 630 p.m.

Weston‘s two-three zone defense “pushed our team to stay patient, work to make smart decisions, and find the holes on the floor,” Kepaa said.

Excellent outside shooting helped open up the lanes, she continued. Poor took six shots from outside the arc and converted four of them. The coach said Poor had “a breakout game.”

Greaney “made great game-time decisions,” Kepaa added. Besides her own point production, “she created offense for many other players on the floor.”
