It’s the Law: No Overnight Parking in Bedford ~ All Year Long

December 15, 2021

Snowplows and sand trucks hit the Bedford streets for the first time last week, and in a few spots their passage was deterred by parked cars.

All-night parking is illegal in Bedford—always—not just in the winter.

“Overnight parking between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m. is prohibited on any public way in the Town of Bedford,” Police Chief Robert Bongiorno pointed out, citing section five of the town’s traffic rules and regulations.

“We remind residents that with winter upon us, the police will enforce this bylaw,” the chief continued. “We will attempt to place a courtesy parking tag on any vehicle prior to taking enforcement action. If streets are impassable or if parked cars are interfering with snow removal operations, they may also be towed.”

The Police Department plans to post reminders on its social media platforms about this bylaw. Questions may be addressed to the police business line at 781-275-1212.
