I want to express my thanks to Peter Bagley and the Bedford Chamber of Commerce Board for honoring me with the 2021 Covid-19 Citizenship Award.
While I’m appreciative personally, I want to accept this award on behalf of First Parish, our Testing Tuesday Team (seen wearing the yellow shirts in the photos), and the Bedford Research Foundation.
I also want to note the many sung and unsung Bedford businesses, private citizens, and Town officials who rallied in support of public health at this time of crisis.
I am astounded to recall that many town organizations and individual Bedford residents – including teenagers and seniors – worked tirelessly to provide masks, face shields, and PPE to needy first-responders. Very many Bedford individuals and organizations are deserving of this recognition.
I hope that this experience will encourage all of Bedford to work more collaboratively as we prepare for future challenges.
