All-Night Parking Ban ~ Especially Tonight with Heavy Snow in the Forecast

All-night parking is prohibited on Bedford streets every night, all year long.

But this weekend it’s especially important to comply, with snow beginning to fall around midnight, and ending around 9 pm Saturday evening with 18 to 24 inches of accumulation.

As snow removal crews prepare for shifts that could exceed 24 hours, vehicles parked on the roadside will impede their progress and could be dangerous.

Police Chief Robert Bongiorno has said that violators will be ticketed, and “if streets are impassable or if parked cars are interfering with snow removal operations, they may also be towed.”

In preparation for this event, police have been spot-checking neighborhoods for violations and in most cases leaving warnings on offending cars.

Refuse and recycle bins left near the edge of the road could easily be damaged during the storm.
