Lucy S. Keohan passed away on January 7, 2022. A longtime resident of Bedford and an RN who earned her degree at Massachusetts General Hospital, Mrs. Keohan leaves many friends and stories. In the 1970s in Wellfleet, she spoke at length to a ‘nice man’ and later told her children it was too bad that he was a ‘wash ashore,’ not born on Cape Cod. Turned the man was World War II hero Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who had also been instrumental in getting her brother into Annapolis.
Visiting hours at Shawsheen Funeral Home, 281 The Great Road, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 8:30 to 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael’s Church, 90 Concord Rd., Bedford at 10 am. Burial will be on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 1 pm in Oakdale Cemetery, Gross Hill Road in Wellfleet.
