Many industries have suffered during the pandemic; restaurants, bars, and dry cleaners among others. It could be argued that no industry has suffered more than the movie theater business. Movie theaters were already having a tough time with large screen TVs becoming better and cheaper, in addition to having many more movie options available through streaming services.
A recent Gallup poll found 61% of Americans did not step foot in a movie theater in all of 2021.
