Bedford High School students recently prepared a bulk mailing for CSF Bedford Dollars for Scholars 57th annual fundraiser. Envelopes arrived in local homes during the past 10 days.
Alma Pomponi has chaired the campaign for more than 30 years. Until the pandemic, the group sponsored an annual phone-a-thon held at MITRE, which supported an extensive phonebank for student volunteers, along with space to prepare a donor follow-up mailing.
Thousands of dollars in scholarship awards will be presented to seniors at ceremonies in May.
Olivia Evans, a member of the BHS Class of 2022, is serving as chapter intern this year. “The amount of money being raised is incredible,” Evans said between envelopes. The turnout of volunteers, she added, is a strong statement of community at BHS.
