Spring and summer mean patriotic holidays, with Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Juneteenth (our newest federal and state holiday), and Independence Day just around the corner. Bedford’s Boy Scout Troop 194 can help you display your pride in America and Bedford with our spring flag sale. Several flags are available for purchase:

  • U.S. flag, made of printed nylon, measuring 3’ x 5’ ($25)
  • U.S. flag, made of sewn nylon with embroidered stars, measuring 3’ x 5’ ($37)
  • Bedford flag, made of printed nylon, measuring 3’ x 3’ 8” ($45)
  • Monochrome U.S. flag with blue/red/green stripe honoring first responders, measuring 3′ x 5′ ($25)

For an additional donation of $50, a detail of uniformed Scouts will remove your old flag and install your new flag in a formal flag-raising ceremony. You may also purchase from the troop an 18’ aluminum flagpole, uninstalled, for $175. For $250, Scouts will also install the flagpole in the ground and raise your new flag in a ceremony. Wall-mounted flagpoles are available as well.

Troop 194 will gladly accept at no charge worn, damaged, or otherwise unserviceable U.S. flags for honorable retirement by burning, as specified by the U.S. Flag Code. Flag retirement traditionally occurs on Flag Day, June 14, with Troop 194’s partners at Anthony-Hunt-Hamilton American Legion Post 221.

The sale runs through June 12th. To order your new flag or arrange pickup of a flag for retirement, please contact Troop 194 at [email protected] or through Facebook at www.facebook.com/Troop194/.
