Climate Change, What’s Bedford Thinking?

April 25, 2022

In honor of Earth Day we thought we would take a break from all the bad news about the war raging in Ukraine, the insurrection at the Capitol, inflation and gun violence, Omicron BA 2, nuclear saber-rattling, and supply chain disruptions and focus on the big tamale, Earth! A new YouGov poll finds that an overwhelming majority (85%) of U.S. adult citizens say that the climate is changing, though not everyone in that group agrees about how much humans are to blame.

Another question finds that 36% of Americans think that climate change will make the earth uninhabitable.  A different question asks whether climate change will lead to the extinction of the human race and interestingly only 31% think that’s true.  So are there 5% of the people who think humanity will find a new home?

So what’s Bedford thinking?  Who do you think is responsible for climate change?

Ready to be counted? Vote in the poll until noon next Saturday. You’ll find the poll in the right-hand column on The Citizen’s main page, or by scrolling to the bottom of your phone or tablet
