The Bedford Arts and Crafts Society (BACS) announces its Regional Art Show and Sale and other upcoming events for Bedford Day, September 17. Profits from the sale of artwork and crafts will help to support next year’s annual BACS scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating Bedford High School student who plans to pursue an art-related degree and career. This year’s recipient is Elise Harfield, who plans to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and hopes to do an internship in technological design.
BACS Annual Regional Art Show and Sale
Artists from Bedford and surrounding towns will exhibit in the BACS Annual Regional Art Show and Sale, which will be held on September 17, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Union Room at Bedford Town Center. This year’s categories are Watercolor, Oil/Acrylic, Drawing/Pastel, 3-Dimensional, Photography, and Other Media.

Silent Auction
This year BACS will also be conducting an exciting Silent Auction. The featured item is a vibrant still life painting in oil (32“x 36.5” framed) by Bruce Kerr.
The painting will be on view at the COA in the Town Center now through Bedford Day. Bids may be made in writing at the COA. The latest bids will be posted to the BACS website, www.bacsma.org. Winners will be announced at 1:00 p.m. on September 17 at the Regional Art Show in the Union Room, Town Center, and can be collected at the show until 2:30 p.m. that day or by an arranged delivery afterward.
BACS Craft Sale
Shoppers will find the BACS Craft Sale at our outdoor booth on Bedford Day. Many unique items, handcrafted by BACS members, will be on sale, including duct tape tissue holders, tile coasters, journals, greeting cards, mini-paintings, and more. Jewelry also will be featured, paracord bracelets, polymer clay pendants, and decoupage brooches.
