BHS Cross Country Teams Net 10 Medals in Invitational

The Bedford High School cross-country teams ran four three kilometer races and brought home 10 medals in last weekend’s Frank Kelley Invitational Meet in Wrentham (Saturday, September 24).

The headliners were Johnny Garraway (first place) and Carter Rauch (third place) in the three-kilometer race for junior and senior boys. They were separated by three seconds.

Other Bedford finishers among the 134 competitors were Aidan McCarthy (11th), Josh Garraway (17th), Oren Brosgol (37th), Henry Reynolds (39th), Peter Benson (40th), Anthony O’Brien (62nd), Micah Harfield (70th), and James Marino (78th).

In the girls’ freshmen and sophomore three kilometer race, Addi Poulter was 7th and Anna Massaro 15th out of 123 runners. Other BHS runners were Grace Niu (21st), Vivian Liu (29th), Maddie Ota (39th), Eliza Dickert (42nd), Carinna Dogan-West (63rd), and Mahita Susurla (81st).

Coco Steele finished 12th in the junior and senior girls’ contest, followed by Farah Scott in 15th place and Lulu Steele 19th. Also finishing for Bedford were Allison Miller (40th), Josie Donnelly (41st), and Martha Hyde (92nd). There were 109 competitors.

Six BHS 9th and 10th grade boys were among the 145 runners in that division. Finishing were William Protasowicki (43rd), Caden Shimko (59th), Simon Bendersky (64th), Justin Hagan (66th), Michael Cheng (117th), and Tyler Munsie (120th).

Earlier last week, Bedford hosted Boston Latin School. The girls’ team was victorious by a score of 20-41, while the Wolfpack defeated the BHS boys, 21-38.
