BHS Cross Country Teams Compete in DCL League Meets

The Bedford High School girls’ cross country team placed second in the Dual County League Small-Schools championship meet on Friday at Franklin Park in Boston. The boys’ cross country team came in fourth in its league meet.

The top BHS runners were, for the girls, Addi Poulter, who came in 16th, and Sam Sheahan at 29th.  

Carter Rauch was 21st in the boys’ race, and Johnny Garraway took 38th. Vivian Liu placed fourth in the girls’ junior varsity race.  

Both teams will compete in the MIAA Divisional 2B meet at Stanley Park in Westfield on Nov. 12.

Last weekend, Stanley Park was the scene of the Dick Atkinson Invitational Meet. Bedford High had four runners medal in the varsity races and four runners medal in the JV events. Varsity medalists were Poulter (12th) and Sheahan (20th). Rauch placed 13th and Garraway took 22nd.  

In the girls’ junior varsity race, Maddie Ota placed fourth, Michelle Wong was ninth, Allison Miller took 11th, and Elena Protasowicki finished 20th.
